About Us

In 1927, Sydney and Clara Max opened our first watch repair shop at the corner of Broadway and John R in downtown Detroit.  Eventually, we grew to three downtown House of Watchbands stores.

In the mid 1970's, we moved to Southfield Michigan where our family headquarters is still in full operation.  Over the years customers have been serviced in Madison Heights, Pontiac, Clinton Township, Farmington Hills, and West Bloomfield.

Three generations of Maxes have run the business since it's inception 80 years ago and we still maintain the reputation as experts in all watch service as well as specialists in restoring vintage watches.

Now at 1800WATCHES.com / House of Watchbands, we provide you professional watch service from any area in the world! We also stock thousands of watch styles at low prices only we can offer! Access the watch catalog day or night, and remember that there are experienced watch professionals are available to assist you in your watch needs.

Over the years, watches have evolved from just timepieces into fashion accessories.  If you'd like a nice leather band made of lizard, crocodile, or sting ray we have them.  You can even choose between colors such as red, yellow, green, or coral.  We take pride in providing these specialty products.
